When/Where: Friday November 14, 7 PM at Monroe Stadium
After a thrilling ending to the District title for Vandegrift, and a disappointing lose for Westlake, to the #13 Dripping Springs Tigers, the two meet at Monroe stadium for the first round of the Texas High School Football 6AD2 Bi District playoffs.

Both Westlake and Vandegrift have lost to Dripping Springs this year, Vandy was blown out 42-14 in their season opener and also took a rare lose to the McNeil Mavericks in district play. With the three way tie between the Vipers, Mavs and Hutto Hippos, Vandegrift takes home a district title for the 8th straight year in a row. Vandegrift fields a healthy team with Hugo DeLaVara leading a tough defense and offensive players like the halfback, Justin Moore and receiver Brock Chilton, the Vipers prove to be a strong team that sometimes get into tight matchups like a close upset by the Hutto Hippos earlier this year.
The starting QB for the Vipers, Miles Teodecki is an area of concern as he missed two of their last games to an injury. Lawson Lombard the backup has stepped up and lead this offense with no mistakes, but will it be enough in the playoffs?
On the other side of the bracket, is Austin Westlake, coming off a rare 7-3 season (Which hasn't been done since 2016) with a lose to the #3 Lake Travis Cavaliers, #5 Prosper and as previously mentioned the #13 ranked Dripping Springs Tigers. The Chaps are looking to persevere in the playoffs.
Westlake has had many injuries throughout the season but their Ole Miss Commit starter QB, Reese Wise is fortunate enough to not be one of those players, he has Jack Newhouse, Lawson Grimes, Braden Riddell, and Rhett Jenkins to throw to, but has shown to take many sacks when under pressure, giving Lake Travis 10 sacks, with 4 being avoidable had he thrown the ball away.
The Chaparral defense is returning stronger with Thompson Bennet and Mason Lastor so this will be a tougher matchup for Vandegrift on the offensive side.
Personal Pick: Coming off a tough home lose and still being able to put up 35 points vs a great Dripping Springs team, compared to the Vipers 14 earlier in the year, I personally pick Westlake to win this game 31-27. Vandegrift will give them a run for their money but ultimately I believe the Chaps will advance to area, ending a great run for the Vipers.
