When/Where Friday November 14, 7PM at Hutto Memorial Stadium
The newly head coached Hutto Hippos will be hosting the Bowie Bulldawgs at home this Friday for the first round bi district playoffs. Last year the dawgs missed playoffs due to an upset by Austin High, this year they defeated the Maroons 34-7 to qualify.

The halfback for the dawgs is Rhys Moreno, a junior with over 1,466 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has ran for 100 yards in 7 out of 10 different games for the year. The dawgs also have a strong defensive line.
Hutto has had their first winning season since 2019 with former North Crowley Offensive Coordinator, Eli Reinhart who joined the Hippos as Head Coach after his 16-0 season at North Crowley. They also came close to upsetting Vandegrift, who has not lost the District title in over 8 years. While the team has had a few mental errors they prove to be a team to beat.
The offense has QB Kaden Stefek who has thrown for 2,709 yards and 34 touchdown passes, halfback, Keilan Chavies and receivers Jaiden Fields who has 79 catches, 1,262 yards and 17 touchdowns, along with Dylan Owens who has 835 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Hippos have one of the best offensives in Austin Texas and the defense has proven to be reliable getting stops when the team is down 3 scores in some games. Brayden Daniel a linebacker has 97 solo tackles, 51 assist, 23 TFL and 7 sacks for the year. With this team, it seems like Hutto controls their own destiny this game if they can get away with not making mental errors like in earlier games, which is why, we my personal pick to win this first round is the Hutto Hippos. 28-21.
The winner of this game will play the winner of San Antonio O'Connor or #21 SA Johnson, who finished the regular season undefeated.
