The Vandegrift Vipers hosted the #23 ranked Austin Westlake Chaparrals at Monroe Stadium for the first bi district playoff game and the Viper's kicker, SMU commit, Wily Olsen, walked off a 36 yard field goal to send the Chaps home in the first round for the first time since 2014.

The game was hard fought on both sides, Westlake would open the game with a 12 play series for 75 yards to go up 7-0 in the first. After which Vandegrift would march right down again and score a 19 yard field goal. Then Westlake would respond with a Reese Wise 3 yard rush to put the chaps up 14-3. However, Vandegrift's halfback, Sam Brown broke loose for a 70 yard run, and then would score the play after, to send the game into halftime 14-10, and the Vipers getting the ball next half.

In the third quarter it was a defensive showcase with Vandegrift able to force a Westlake punt but the Westlake special teams would pin the Vipers in their own endzone forcing a few punts back.

Westlake had one interception and two fumbles for the game, giving the Vipers scoring opportunities in the Westlake redzone. The Vipers would respond with another field goal to go 14-13.

Westlake would march straight back down to the Vandegrift goal line and they would be held to a 4th down, where Reese Wise was stopped well behind the line, forcing a turnover on downs, with 4 minutes left in the ball game.

The Viper's QB, Miles Teodecki, returning after injury, would throw an interception to Colton Fuir, with two minutes left in the ball game but the Viper defense was able to force another three and out and a Westlake punt.

Miles Teodecki would connect with Brock Chilton to take the Vipers to midfield and then a toe tap later for 15 yards, set up the Vipers to run it down the middle and setup for the field goal.

Wiley Olson, lined up for the 36 yard field goal, against the wind, and drilled it to send Ole Miss Commit Reese Wise and the Westlake Chaps home for the first time in the first round since 2014. Westlake finishes the year 7-4 and the Vipers advance to play SA Brandeis in the area round of playoffs, good luck Vipers, and good season to the Chaps.
